We are a longstanding behavioral healthcare provider that strives to support families in our community.Willamette Family was recently accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), noting that we meet or exceed the national standards for excellence in behavioral healthcare.COVID 19 MANDATEAs our facilities are considered residential healthcare facilities Willamette Family is required to follow state mandates around Masking and the COVID-19 vaccination.Position Purpose: The lead teacher develops individual goals, classroom curriculum, and activity modifications for children while providing ongoing assessments on child progress and development. The lead teacher collaboratively works with teachers/aids to ensure that their classroom environment, curriculum, and activities are according to department standards and is inclusive of various needs and backgrounds.All CDC staff must meet requirements per the Child Care Division and Willamette Family agency policies and procedures. The CDC provides a safe and secure learning environment. CDC staff support parents in their role as primary caretakers and teachers of their children and encourage parent involvement in all aspects of the program.Position Information: Teaching staff is directly supervised by the Program Manager/CDC Coordinator/Early Childhood Education (ECE) Specialist.Compensation:$18-$22/hr Signing Bonus of $1000; $500 at time of hire and $500 at end of 6-month trial serviceEmployee Benefits include:

  • and more!. Requirements: Minimum Requirements:
    • Step 8 or higher in the Oregon Registry Online (ORO).
    • Minimum education of a CDA, CCP, Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), or other degrees in a related field.
    • Minimum of one year experience in a certified center (infant/toddler/preschool) classroom - two years or more is preferred.
    • Experience should include the ability to adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of all children including at-risk, special needs, and culturally diverse populations.
    • Current Pediatric CPR & First Aid certification and have a current Food Handler's Card.
    • At time of hire must complete a TB skin test.
    • At the time of hire must be currently enrolled in Child Care Division's Criminal Background Registry (CBR) and must renew every five years.
    • Prefer a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or other Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
      • Ability to apply early childhood development (focusing on infant/toddler/preschool) theory in daily activities and adapt to the individual needs of children.
      • Ability to supervise and monitor children at all times to ensure a safe environment (includes the physical ability to monitor and appropriately respond to children who are very active and may need redirection with occasional lifting up to 35 lbs.).
      • Ability to work as a team member collaborating with staff, parents, and community resources.
      • Frequent significant decision-making and problem-solving abilities (includes the ability to respond appropriately to an emergency or a crisis situation).
      • Adequate written and verbal communication skills.
      • Intermediate to advanced comfortability with technology or willingness to learn (such as computer, internet, e-mail, iPad, etc.)
      • Prefer knowledge of local community resources and referral experience to assist families in need of services.Essential Job Responsibilities:I. Child Development
        • Meet the needs of all children through developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) while being inclusive of those who are at risk, have special needs/accommodations, and are from diverse backgrounds/lifestyles.
        • Develop and implement daily plans that reflect mandated elements, parental and cultural influences, and promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children.
        • Individualize one-on-one and group activities to reflect the unique needs and strengths of all children in the classroom (including feeding/meals, diapering/toileting, napping, small and large group experiences, choice time, music and movement, gross and fine motor activities, and effective transitions between activities).II. Classroom
          • Supervise and monitor children at all times to ensure an appropriate and safe environment.
          • Create an atmosphere that promotes and supports parental involvement.
          • Appropriately respond to crisis or emergency situations as needed (including providing first aid or CPR, preventing the spread of blood-borne pathogens, and access emergency medical services (EMS) as needed).
          • Organize the classroom environment (indoor/outdoor) to facilitate experimentation, exploration, problem-solving, cooperation, socialization, and choice-making through various learning opportunities.
          • Partner with appropriate agencies in developing individualized planning/care for children/families as needed. Including coordinating with Early Childhood CARES (EC CARES) through a collaborative approach that supports all children in the classroom and meets needs as specified on individual plans.
          • Ensure classroom materials and supplies are prepared to support daily plans (including changing materials in learning centers as needed).
          • Ensure the classroom environment/equipment is properly sanitized and cleaning tasks are completed.
          • Confirm that child daily activities/care (including meal time/feeding infants, nap times, and diapering/toileting) are completed within expected time frames.III. Child Documentation / Child File
            • Review individual child enrollment information to ensure proper care and documentation of child progress and needs (including writing an opening statement when the child starts).
            • Confirm that children's daily activities/care are documented in Tadpoles prior to being picked up.
            • Maintain accurate written and electronic records (including assessments/screenings/goals, special needs/accommodations, observations, family communication, closing statement, and other required forms/information) based on the necessity of the event/situation.
            • Upload documents/documentation into child's electronic file in Teaching Strategies (TS) according to expected time frames.IV. Collaborative Service Delivery
              • Participate in scheduled team/provider meetings to deliver collaborative services across all components.
              • Primarily be responsible for communicating regularly with parents, other staff, and community providers to act as an advocate for families.
              • Miscellaneous Requirements
              • Attend scheduled meetings, training's and appropriate professional development activities (including maintaining at least 24 training hours per certification period with a minimum of 10 hours in child development core knowledge categories).
              • Assist with general maintenance, safety, and security of the facility.
