Department Summary The Center for Translational Neuroscience (CTN) is a center within the Department of Psychology whose mission is to translate knowledge from basic neuroscience and apply it to improve well-being, promote resilience, and mitigate the effects of early adverse experiences. The Psychology department, located within the College of Arts and Sciences, is one of the largest departments supporting significant instructional and research activities in a wide range of fields within the discipline. The Department enrolls about 1,900 students per term, with approximately 300 undergraduate Psychology majors, and 80 doctoral students, and includes approximately 35 teaching faculty, emeriti faculty, research staff, graduate students and professional/administrative staff. For more information on the Department, visit ******************************** For more information on the CTN, visit ************************ Position Summary The Project Manager will be primarily responsible for the coordination of the EC PRISM Model, which is an innovation model for the development, implementation, and evaluation of early childhood programs. The EC PRISM team is currently developing a set of tools to support innovation in early childhood programming. The EC PRISM Model is part of the Stress Neurobiology and Prevention (SNAP) lab, housed within the Center for Translational Neuroscience (CTN) at the University of Oregon. This position will work closely with key stakeholders throughout the SNAP Lab and beyond to define and articulate the product vision and roadmap of the EC PRISM Model. The primary responsibilities of the EC PRISM Project Manager will be to coordinate day-to-day activities to support the development of the model as well as tools to support the implementation of the model. One large aim of currently funded work is the creation of the IMPACT Measures Repository and Search Engine Tool. The goal of the IMPACT project is to create a centralized, regularly updated web-based measures repository and search engine of early childhood measures, dedicated to informing and educating various stakeholders in the field (e.g., academic researchers, program developers, practitioners, community members). The Project Manager will work closely with the web developer and UO staff to support the creation of the digital website and repository and to facilitate clear instruction and decision-making between the research team and the website development team. This position will be the primary communicator and link between the stakeholders and the project teams, interfacing with contracted web developers as well as members of the internal and external project team to ensure development of website is in line with the projected timeline. This position will also work with the postdoctoral scientists and research assistants to track and organize identified early childhood measures, in addition to interfacing with various organizations supporting the implementation of the project, including Zero to Three and project funders. The Project Manager will also assist in implementing a needs assessment and impact evaluation for the project, as well as tracking progress to ensure deliverables are met based on projected timeline and assisting in creating quarterly and yearly project reports for funders. This position will also be trained in the technical assistance model supported by EC PRISM. They may be involved in delivering direct technical assistance as needed on various projects (e.g., FUEL Initiative; community alignment work in the state of Oregon) and will become a resource for postdoctoral scholars and research assistants involved in providing technical assistance to partner organizations. The Project Manager may supervise 2-3 Research Assistants. The Project Manager will report to Tyson Barker, postdoctoral scientist in the SNAP lab. This position must be able to travel by plane throughout the US as well as travel throughout the state of Oregon to support technical assistance work. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree. Two years of experience tracking, organizing, and delegating responsibilities using project management software for technical, scientific research projects. Professional Competencies Knowledge of best practices in managing research projects. Ability to use spreadsheets to track and organize data. Ability to coordinate day-to-day activities of a larger project in order to ensure project makes progress to meet quarterly and yearly deliverables. Ability to learn and understand technical language from multiple professional disciplines (e.g., web development, database building, measurement and evaluation, early childhood education, education policy), and communicate effectively via email and phone/video conferences with experts from these various disciplines. Strong writing skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team. Preferred Qualifications MA/MS/MPH/PhD degree. Project Management experience. Topical expertise in early child development, psychology, public health, and/or education. Topical expertise in measurement and evaluation. Previous experience working with Asana software. Experience creating figures in Excel and writing reports. Experience managing web design or software development projects, particularly those related to health and development. Experience using statistical programs such as Qualtrics, SPSS or R to process data, create reports, and prepare data for analysis.
