Anticipated Start Date: Upon Hire Salary/Wage: Annual Salary/Wage
Range: $70,454 - $98,582 (Management Salary Band 4A) * Our

Working Schedule: Full-time; Variable work hours based upon
department needs; weekends, evenings and travel may be required.
Generally Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00 pm.
- Masters Degree or combination of education and experience.
Required Experience:
- Five (5) years of financial experience, which includes at least
three (3) years of progressively responsible management experience.
Conditions of Employment:

- Masters Degree in Higher Education Leadership, Business
Administration, Finance, or a related field. Preferred Experience

the position. Position Purpose: The Director of Financial Aid,
working with the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs, sets
the vision and mission for the financial aid team to successfully
manage federal and state financial aid programs. Essential
Functions: Essential Functions Leadership
- Facilitate the delivery of federal and state financial
programs.
- Develop and supervise financial aid team through coaching,
mentoring, facilitating, and professional development.
- Promote the college vision, mission, values and strategic
directions; enhance and support student enrollment and success;
ensure collaborative, integrated and effective practices.
- Collaborate with Student Affairs Leadership to ensure
integrated, fiscally sustainable practices that promote quality
instruction and student success.
- Promote and foster collegiality; initiate and/or support
change, creativity, and innovation processes.
- Promote development and implementation of diversity
initiatives; facilitate staff participation in college-wide
diversity initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regional accreditation policy and
standards on instruction and student services.
- Utilize new technologies and web based tools to improve
financial aid application and disbursement processes.
Administration
- Lead financial aid services and programs to ensure effective
enrollment management and the development and assessment of student
recruitment and retention strategies.
- Leverage financial aid team skills to advance department
goals.
- Professionally represent the College at local, state and
national levels.
- Supervise the coordination, preparation and submission of
reports required by local, state and national agencies.
- Identify and participate in opportunities for individual
professional development.
- Actively support affirmative action goals and equal opportunity
efforts at individual, divisional and college levels; facilitate
effective recruiting and retention of a diverse workforce.
- Manage and monitor financial aid departmental budget in
collaboration with college leadership utilize data in decision
making to ensure effective, efficient and sustainable use of
resources.
- Manage employment and termination actions, recruitment process,
assignment, supervision and evaluation of staff in collaboration
with Executive Team and Human Resources. Equity and Inclusion

within available resources.
- Serve as a leader and member of internal committees and
councils involved in governance of the institution; represent Lane
in state, regional, and national higher education and financial aid
organizations.
- Represent community college and financial aid opportunities to
members of the community, including prospective students and their
families, civic organizations, high schools and government and
non-profit social services agencies.
Other related duties as assigned. Supervision Statement: Reports to
the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs. Physical
Demands/Working Environment: This position works indoors and is
exposed to usual office working conditions that includes office
noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and
visitors. This position requires that an employee be able to sit or
stand for extended periods of time; perform cognitive and
psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day. Work may
require transporting materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of:
- Comprehensive detailed knowledge of the legal, statutory,
regulatory and internal policy requirements of financial aid
administration; thorough working knowledge of the use of Federal,
State, and automated systems and the technical and process elements
that support the delivery of financial aid to students. Thorough
working knowledge of basic financial accounting and fiscal issues
and the College student service systems and processes such as
financial processes, HR management and processes, labor relations,
higher education legal issues; the interdependence of academic and
student affairs; college policies, public relations and technology;
student judicial processes; demonstrated understanding of higher
education instructional and student affairs processes, challenges
and opportunities; disability, mental health, and other student
access issues. Skill in:
- Collaborative and participatory decision making utilizing the
efforts of others, analysis, organization and administration;
problem solving; interpersonal relationships; communication,
coaching, mentoring, team building, recognition and collaborative
leadership; facilitation and conflict resolution and negotiation;
demonstrated cultural competence; crisis intervention and
management; direct, open, clear and concise communication both
verbal and written; skillful and active listening; meeting
facilitation; management of complex budget; planning skills, vision
and initiative to anticipate and manage rapid institutional and
technology changes. Ability to:

a high degree of complexity, including ability to address multiple
projects and issues at the highest level of the organization;
collaborate with collective bargaining units; foster and promote a

other institutions; implement outcomes and assessment in the
learning process; advocate for Enrollment and Student Financial
Services and more specifically the financial aid team, within the
College and community at large; demonstrate an active collegial,
cooperative workplace; relate interpersonally with students, staff
and the public; promote a strategic vision for areas of
responsibility; demonstrated ability to build systems that promote
