About the team The Core Home Shopping Services team delivers
innovative software services that power Zillow's Search and
Discover Experiences supporting millions of users dream and shop
for their next home. Our backend services are depended upon by a
large number of clients across our product space; we aggregate and
personalize data from various sources and apply key business logic
for our web and app interfaces. Given our critical role in the
end-user experience, we care deeply about the performance,
resiliency, scalability, and adaptability of our services. About
the role In this role you will be able to lead a small but mighty
team of 6+ highly skilled and experienced backend engineers
supporting Search and Discover Experiences on Mobile and Web.
You'll be collaborating with your peers across Zillow's Artificial
Intelligence and Search Platform as well as frontend teams and
further enable the evolution of Search and Discover supporting
Zillow's customers through their home shopping journey. We strongly

challenges ahead. You Will Get To: Collaborate with tech leads in
crafting and implementing your technical vision for the team and
further refine and increase the impact of your team to key business

service development from drafting up the MVP designs on a
whiteboard over to shipping incremental features and bug fixes with
already matured production services. This role has been categorized
as a Remote position. "Remote" employees do not have a permanent
corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical
location of their choice which must be identified to the Company.
Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited
exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated
job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support
customers or clients as part of their role. In Colorado,
Connecticut, Nevada and New York City the standard base pay range
for this role is $181,000.00 - $289,100.00 Annually. This base pay
range is specific to Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York
City and may not be applicable to other locations. Who you are Who
you are Demonstrate deep understanding of software design patterns
and best development practices. Passionate about software quality,
delivery excellence, and iterative development practicing agile
software development methodologies. Exhibit strong engineering
judgment, enabled by breadth and depth of experiences building and
scaling resilient backend services. Proven record of creating a
team environment that cultivates collaboration, encourages
energized work, and delivers high quality results consistently on
time, every time. Translate Annual Plans and OKRs to quarterly
development team plans. Able to lead and drive confident trade-off
discussions about business and engineering prioritizes. Exhibits
excellent cross-team collaboration and communication skills.
Committed to motivating, mentoring, and growing the potential of
others. Qualifications 5+ years of full-time experience and high
proficiency software development in Java, python or similar
programming languages. You have experience AWS or GraphQL. 3+ years
in a people management or similar technical leadership role. In
addition to a competitive base salary this position is also
eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience,
