Sustainability Manager, you will provide leadership in the
development and maintenance of a robust Sustainability Program and
corporate strategy at GloryBee. The ideal candidate will be an
innovative visionary, a change champion, and a cheerleader for
sustainability, using effective communication and management to
gain company-wide buy-in and support while developing an
Environmental Management System from existing sustainability
policies and initiatives, integrating sustainability practices
throughout all facets of the business, and managing the company's
public facing reporting and disclosures. Collaborating with
internal and external stakeholders, the Sustainability Manger will
drive continuous improvement in GloryBee's social and environmental
impact strategy. Keeping informed of challenges and opportunities
specific to the food industry will also be key to your success.
Typical duties for this full-time salaried role may include: +
Develops and maintains Environmental Management System to measure
and monitor GloryBee's social and environmental impacts + Manages
tracking of company-wide sustainability metrics and recommends
targets, including annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
inventories and all data required for B Corp certification +
Oversees internal and external communications, compiles annual
sustainability report and related disclosure materials, and serves
as point of contact for vendors and customers requiring
sustainability information + Works with Executive and Management
teams to integrate sustainability principles into short and
long-term operational improvements; interfaces with marketing team
on communication materials related to sustainability + Reports on
sustainability measures internally to GloryBee staff; develops
department-appropriate trainings + Establishes professional
relationships and strategic partnerships with suppliers and
like-minded customers; acts as liaison to communicate initiatives
partners, customers, trade associations, and the local community +
Represents the company to government agencies, non-governmental
organizations (NGOs), trade associations, and all public facing
reporting and disclosures + Serves as the hub for insights on
industry standards, best practices, and regulatory trends What We
Are Looking For: + Bachelor's Degree in related field required;
Master's Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or other
applicable science preferred + Minimum of 5 years' experience
developing and managing sustainability programs is required;
Environmental Management System (EMS) development, implementation
and/or management is preferred but not required + Working knowledge
of B Corp certification, Global Reporting Initiative, Science Based
Targets, Zero Waste, Net Zero, Climate Neutral, and/or Climate
Pledge is strongly preferred + Highly resourceful thinker with the
ability to summarize complex issues, identify opportunities or next
steps with limited guidance, and add value through creative input +
Demonstrated evidence of strategic, pragmatic, and analytical
approaches to problems + Demonstrated ability to manage diverse
projects, work collaboratively, and work independently + Excellent
technical and organizational skills + Strong professional writing
and communication skills + Food industry experience is preferred,
but not required; a passion for natural foods is essential, as well
as an aptitude for leading within a dynamic company and industry
