Summary The Communications Manager will work to ensure that CPAN
and 90by30's outreach and external engagement strategies are
implemented in a manner consistent with the communications
strategic plan. The Communications Manager is responsible for
developing and executing a strategic communication plan, both
internally and externally, on behalf of CPAN that meets
communication needs for recruitment, research, and development.
This role is instrumental in increasing 90by30's community
presence, community engagement, and advancement of regional
prevention plans. The person in this position will be responsible
for developing and overseeing CPAN and 90by30's outreach and
external engagement strategic plan. A primary goal of this position
requires designing and implementing systems to effectively use
traditional, interactive, social, and innovative media strategies
to engage diverse audiences and relevant academic and professional
groups. Additional overall responsibilities include 1) the
maintenance of organization websites and social media; 2) oversight
and production of e-letters; 3) providing design and communications
consultation to Regional Leadership Teams; 4) design support for
90by30 and CPAN research reports; 5) track key social media
analytics; and 6) supervision of Journalism and Communication
student interns and employees. The Communications Manager is
supervised directly by the CPAN Director. The position is eligible
for remote work either full or hybrid but must maintain regular
business hours for PST. Department Summary The Center for the
Prevention of Abuse and Neglect (CPAN) is dedicated to partnering
with Oregon communities to better understand and advance safe,
healthy, connected, and nurturing environments for children and
families, with a specific focus on preventing child abuse and
neglect and dismantling the social structures and norms that
perpetuate oppression and child harm. CPAN's research aims to
inform culturally specific prevention science, intervention, and
policy efforts that build on community strengths and inspire
action-taking. Established in 2012, CPAN is an outreach and
research center at the University of Oregon in the College of
Education. CPAN conducts research and evaluation related to the
prevention and intervention of interpersonal violence, focusing
mostly on child physical and sexual abuse, neglect, and intimate
partner violence and their intersections with multiple forms of
oppression and trauma - including but not limited to racism,
sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and ableism. CPAN's
largest community-based project is the 90by30 Lane County child
abuse prevention initiative. 90by30 is a primary prevention,
collective impact, and public health approach to child abuse, child
neglect, and identity-based violence in childhood. 90by30 is led by
distinct regional leadership teams to facilitate community
engagement for locally based change. CPAN believes that child abuse
and neglect is a public health, human rights, and social justice
problem. 90by30 Values Statement Child abuse prevention must center
on anti-oppression in order to be effective. At 90by30, we are
prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion in order to reach our
goal of eliminating abuse, violence, and the racial disparities
that exist in Lane County, Oregon, the traditional, indigenous

become an equity-centered, anti-racist organization. This work is
