Essential responsibilities

• 
  
• Builds, leads and provides direction to a team of product managers responsible for a suite of products; may product manage their own products.
  
• Has ultimate accountability for decisions made by their product team
  
• Is an expert in product management methodologies; evangelizes and coaches others on best practices
  
• Hires and onboards product managers and analysts; mentors and develops more junior product managers to improve their knowledge, skills, and career opportunities
  
• Works closely with other leaders across the organization to align on vision and strategy for their portfolio
  
• Leads large-scale, cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the product management organization.
  
• Defines the vision, sets the strategy, and directs the execution for one or more products that are complex, highly-technical, and with deep stakeholder engagement
  
• Collaborates on and communicates product and technical resourcing needs and strategies
  
• Actively seeks opportunities to introduce and operationalize new tools and processes, or optimize existing ones, to improve the organization.
  
• Is an expert in product management methodologies; evangelizes and coaches product managers on best practices
  
• Is a product SME: Understands business rules/logic associated with the products and ensures they are documented and maintained; determines and is actively participating in the appropriate user research activities, defines product KPIs and maintains and reports out on product analytics on an ongoing basis, and regularly seeks out market data to develop points of view and make well-informed product decisions
  
• Acts as the chief liaison between business and engineering/delivery teams, representing the needs of the business while championing on behalf of the end user
  
• Identifies, recommends and/or implements continuous improvement opportunities to organizational processes within primary and partner departments
