Job Description: Director Surgical Services Collaborates with and supports the Chief Nursing Officer to accomplish the objectives of the Surgical Services Division and overall strategic plan of the hospital. Directs the day-to-day operation of the division to ensure effective leadership, staff productivity, sound employee relations, responsible fiscal practices, and efficient, safe, effective, high-quality patient care. Full-Time Position (80 Hours Per Pay Period) Shift: Varied hours Days: Varied Wages Based Upon Experience CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled SKILLS AND ABILITIES --- Exercises good judgment, demonstrates effective critical thinking skills --- Flexible, able to prioritize and address multiple responsibilities concurrently --- Works effectively under stress and frequently changing job requirements/situations --- Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance --- Ability to read, write legibly, and converse effectively in the English language --- Proficient computer skills --- Demonstrates effective response to patient crisis/emergency situations --- Proficient in quality improvement methodologies EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES --- Licensed as Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon --- Master's degree in nursing or health-related field --- Bachelor's degree in nursing --- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) EXPERIENCE --- Minimum of 8 years clinical experience in an acute care hospital in the last 10 years --- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in surgery or surgical services --- Minimum 3 years managerial experience in surgery or surgical services --- Experience in project management and organizational development preferred --- Lean experience preferred GENERAL INFORMATION Union Affiliation: None The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
