skills, education, and experience. Position SummaryOSU -Cascades is
seeking an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor or Full
Professor for the Doctor of Physical Therapy ( DPT ) Program. This
is a full-time (1.0 FTE ), 9-month position Tenure Track Assistant
Professor or Tenured Associate Professor or Tenured Full Professor
rank, with the expectation of teaching, research, and
institutional/professional service.The OSU -Cascades DPT program
launched fall 2021 with a cohort of 45 students and will have 3
cohorts of 45 students at full buildout. The program is housed in a
new state-of-the-art, net zero energy building at the expanding OSU
-Cascades campus in Bend, Oregon. Facilities for the program
include clinical-skills classrooms, cutting-edge biomechanics and
exercise physiology research laboratories, and a large human
cadaver laboratory. The DPT program is currently comprised of 7
full-time core faculty and 25 part-time faculty. All core faculty
are engaged in scholarly activity.We will be hiring for two
full-time core faculty positions. Faculty for one position is
expected to have expertise to teach in the neuroscience and
neuroanatomy curriculum as well as additional areas across the wide
range of DPT curriculum. Faculty for the other position will be
expected to have expertise to teach in their area of expertise
across the wide range of DPT curriculum. This could include courses
in the areas of physiology, pathology, cardiopulmonary dysfunction,
principles of disease, orthopedics, prosthetics and orthotics, or
differential diagnosis. The successful candidates are also expected
to engage in research and participate in service.OSU -Cascades,
located in Bend, Oregon, is a campus of Oregon State University.
Established in 2001, the university currently enrolls more than
1,300 students in bachelor's and master's degree programs. The
campus expanded to a four-year university in 2015, and opened its
10-acre campus in fall 2016. The Oregon legislature approved
additional funding in 2017 and 2018 for continued campus expansion,
which is currently in progress. The campus has ambitious enrollment
goals to reach 3,000 students and is engaged in building a
culturally diverse and community-centric educational
environment.The expected start date will be in September
2023.Position DutiesTeaching - 50%Teaching in content areas such as
neuroscience, neuroanatomy, physiology, pathology, cardiopulmonary
rehabilitation, principles of disease, orthopedics, prosthetics and
orthotics, or differential diagnosis with other areas
considered.Research- 40%Sustaining scholarly/creative achievement
that is of a high standard in the field of physical therapy or
health sciences as evidenced by the publication of articles in
refereed journals, delivery of papers at regional, and national
conferences and meetings, submission and attainment of research
grants or funding. Service - 10%Participating in activities that
support, enhance, or extend the work and missions of the DPT
program, OSU -Cascades campus, college and/or university. Serving
on committees and participating in activities in service of the
program and larger issues. Interacting with others in a collegial
and professional manner.Participating in activities that support,
enhance, or improve the profession, whether defined as one's
discipline or teaching.Service to the profession includes, but is
not limited to, offices held and committee assignments performed
for professional associations.Minimum/Required
QualificationsApplicants must have earned a PhD in a discipline
generally related to physical therapy and health sciences from an
accredited university prior to position start date.Physical
therapists must possess an Oregon Physical Therapist License or be
eligible for licensure in Oregon.Demonstrated ability or
significant potential for research.Demonstrated ability or
significant potential for excellent teaching.Significant potential
to develop a research program that can be supported by the existing
infrastructure at OSU -Cascades or in collaboration with OSU
-Corvallis or industry.Strong communication and collaborative
abilities.Experience actively engaging in professional and/or
community service activities.Strong leadership skills.Demonstrable
experience with curriculum development.Ability to coordinate and
effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in
building/maintaining constructive and cooperative working
relationships.A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing
diversity.Preferred (Special) Qualifications3 years of prior
teaching experience in a DPT program or an academic setting.A
strong record or signification potential for research publications
and funding.Postdoctoral experience.Experience conducting scholarly
work.Clinical experience as a physical therapist.Working Conditions
/ Work ScheduleThis position will require occasional travel and
some night/weekend work as determined by business needs.This
position requires a clear and unambiguous commitment to compliance
