The Operating Room Night Shift Charge Nurse RN will be accountable for working with the Perioperative Services Nurse Manager and Director to provide twenty four hour oversight of nursing practice including staff recruitment, retention, staff performance and counseling, policy/procedure, staffing, performance improvement, staff development and education, resource management and program development. The Operating Room Night Shift Charge Nurse RN will also take the lead on overseeing operations, workflow planning, budget management, and other administrative tasks.
The Operating Room Night Shift Charge Nurse RN will communicate with physicians regarding clinical issues. The Operating Room Night Shift Charge Nurse RN will communicate with the Surgical Services Director regarding services, guiding orientation and all in-service education for the staff. The Operating Room Night Shift Charge Nurse RN will continually assess, measure and improve departmental performance standards according to HCAHPS customer service benchmark.
The Operating Room Night Shift Charge Nurse RN will assist in directing operations of the Perioperative Department to assure compliance with all regulatory agencies and hospital requirements. The Operating Room Night Shift Charge Nurse RN will demonstrate leadership abilities and work with department Director in assuring collaborative departmental approach to planning care, service design and development of organizational policies and procedures. This will be 3 twelve hour night shifts.
