Overview:NaphCare is partnering with Everhealth to hire a Nurse
Practitioner (NP) to join our team of medical professionals in
Hillsboro, Oregon where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the
individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Washington County
Jail. Pay rates range from $65.25-$68.87 per hour based on type of
license, certification, shift, site needs, licensure, and
experience.As a Correctional Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will work
alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to
provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a
controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days
are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged
including assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with a range
of medical conditions and chronic illnesses, prescribe medications,
respond to emergencies, etc. This is a unique position where you
can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with
complex medical needs.Responsibilities:Job Duties /
ResponsibilitiesThe Nurse Practitioner plays a critical role in our
continued mission to provide quality care that protects the rights,
dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and
responsibilities may include and are not limited to:Conducting
physical examinations, developing treatment plans and monitoring
patientsManaging acute and chronic conditions such as asthma,
hypertension, and diabetes.Administering medications and providing
instructions to patientsMonitoring and documenting patient health
including vital signs, medical histories.Providing direct patient
care, triaging, assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and
coordinating services.Responding to medical emergencies, providing
first aid, and ensuring timely transport to appropriate healthcare
facilities.Educating patients on preventative care, healthy
lifestyle choices, and substance abuse prevention.Understanding and
adhering to correctional facility security protocols, while working
closely with correctional officers and other healthcare
professionals, to ensure the safety and well-being of
patients.Maintaining accurate medical records, documenting
treatment plans, and reporting any relevant information.Conducting
rounds, evaluating patients returning from off-site
treatmentAdmitting and discharging patients from the
facilityQualifications:Education / Licenses / Certifications /
RequirementsAdvanced nursing education (Master's or
Doctorate)Current licensure as a Nurse PractitionerMust hold a
current unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner in
Oregon.Current DEA registrationAn appropriate collaborative
agreement with the on-site PhysicianPossess an active CPR
certificationBe certified in a Board recognized by the American
Board of Medical SpecialtiesMust pass the facilitys criminal
background check and drug screeningExperience / SkillsKnowledge of
nursing practice principles and techniques, occupational health and
safety standards, infectious disease management, applicable health
care laws, regulations, and procedures for direct health care
services.Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary
and/or confidential informationExcellent communication,
organizational, and problem-solving skillsAble to work
independently and in a teamExperience working in a correctional
facility or acute care center is a plusIntegrity, professionalism
and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all
facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal
requirementsPhysical Capabilities:Must have the ability to stand
for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend,
squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform
physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good
