2/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and
Delivery Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13
weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, STABLE Must-Have: - Experience circulating and/or
scrubbing in the operating room for cesarean sections - Ability to
titrate drips, including Pitocin, LR, Fentanyl, and Labatelol -
Capability to read telemetry strips Description: Auto offer based
on prescreen recommendation. A 90-day emergency license can be
requested upon offer. There are 9 labor and delivery beds and 1 OR
suite. The unit includes 2 triage beds and 4 postpartum beds. The
expected number of births per year is approximately 850-900. Ratios
follow AWHONN guidelines. Charge nurse and house supervisor roles
are present. OB technicians are available to assist on the unit.
Neonatologists are not in-house 24/7. There are 2 vents and 2
bubble CPAP devices available. Telemetry is available on the unit,
and RNs are responsible for reading strips. The electronic fetal
monitoring system used is GE Centricity. Shifts are 12-hour shifts,
with yearly core schedules in place. There is a weekend requirement
of every other weekend or 1 weekend based on seniority. Holiday
requirements are per the applicable contract. There is a call or
standby requirement of 2 - 12 hour call shifts every 4 weeks. The
unit operates as a closed unit unless emergency measures are in
place. Scrubs are provided in purple color. Unit-specific
orientation is completed for all new and incoming employees.
