Requirements: The Charge Nurse, Level 1 supports the daily
operations of the veterinary surgery department by coordinating
patient flow, assisting with surgical care, and maintaining a safe,
organized clinical environment. This role also helps manage staff
scheduling needs and provides training and guidance to support team
development and consistency in patient care. Patient Care &
Surgical Support Assist with patient intake, surgical prep,
anesthesia induction support, and recovery monitoring Monitor
hospitalized and post-operative patients, reporting changes to the
medical team Ensure accurate documentation of treatments, vitals,
and patient status Workflow Coordination Support daily work flow by
coordinating patient movement between prep, surgery, and recovery
Communicate with veterinarians, technicians, and client service
teams to maintain schedule efficiency Help troubleshoot delays or
workflow issues and escalate concerns to leadership when needed
Clinical Operations Maintain cleanliness and readiness of surgical
prep, treatment, and recovery areas Ensure equipment is cleaned,
maintained, and functioning properly Follow all safety, anesthesia,
and infection-control protocols Team Support Provide guidance and
support to assistants and other nursing staff as directed Help
train new team members on patient handling, workflow, and clinic
