Position Title: Registered Nurse Department: Umpqua Health Newton Creek Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt position Schedule: Thursday - Saturday - 7:00am - 7:00pm Location: On-site position Salary: Wage Band 18: $ 68,155 – $ 81,785 Salary is dependent upon skills, experience, and education. Must reside in Oregon - Douglas County. POSITION PURPOSE The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care in an outpatient provider clinic setting. The RN supports safe, high quality, patient centered care through clinical assessment, care coordination, patient education, and collaboration with providers and the interdisciplinary care team. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Provide direct clinical nursing care to patients in accordance with provider orders, evidence-based practice, and scope of RN licensure. Perform comprehensive patient assessments including medical history, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and identification of care needs. Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring comfort, privacy, and understanding of the visit. Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments as ordered, following established clinical protocols and safety standards. Provide patient and family education related to diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and self-management. Coordinate care activities including follow-up, referrals, diagnostic testing, and communication with internal and external care partners. Support population health initiatives, quality improvement activities, and chronic disease management efforts as assigned. Utilize the electronic health record accurately and timely to document care, communicate with the care team, and support continuity of care. Support clinical triage functions including telephone and electronic patient communication within established guidelines. Provide clinical direction and support to medical assistants and other clinical staff as appropriate. Maintain infection control standards and ensure exam rooms, equipment, and supplies are prepared and stocked. Function within the scope of registered nursing practice and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, Code of Conduct, and Compliance Program requirements. Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations and patient care. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Current unrestricted Oregon Registered Nurse licensure required. Minimum of three to five years of clinical nursing experience preferred, with outpatient or ambulatory care experience strongly preferred. Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation. Strong communication, organizational, and patient education skills. No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (e.g. Medicare/Medicaid) Proficient computer skills, including MS Office suite. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Prior experience in a customer service and/or clinical setting. Strong knowledge of available community resources. Demonstrated competency working with people from diverse cultures. Ability to assess and treat members in a culturally competent manner. Clinical knowledge of the health or social work needs for the population served. Demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters. Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner. High attention to detail required. Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities. Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills. Ability to work well in team setting, as well as independently, and be flexible and adapt to different dynamics in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and follow-up. Ability to organize work and remain focused under stressful conditions with critical attention to detail for accuracy and timeliness. Ability to work effectively with a team, other departments, and exercise sound judgment in handling assigned tasks including maintenance of strict confidentiality. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with internal and internal customers. Ability to respond to business needs flexibly, which may include overtime or flexible hours, weekends, and/or holidays. Ability to support organizational and program-specific mission and goals. Experience working with different communication styles. Bi-lingual translation or translation capabilities a plus Experience considering the impacts of the work on multiple communities, including communities of color, in technical analysis.
