Reports To: Chief Medical Officer Work Type: On-Site
Classification: On-Call Location: This position is expected to be
flexible and rotate to cover at all sites Language Differential:
Eligible SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing
professional, comprehensive primary medical care and treatment
services with emphasis on prevention of disease, and promotion of
health. Essential Job Duties Provides patients with medical
assessments and treatments pertaining to physical and mental
health. Orders and interprets medical labs and diagnostic imaging
for patients. Refers patients to appropriate specialists as needed.
Prescribes pharmaceuticals and treatments for assessed medical
conditions. Performs minor procedures as qualified. Provides
accurate, timely, and complete documentation in patient records
following Neighborhood Health Center coding standards. Displays
sensitivity to the populations served. Contributes professional
medical expertise to other medical and mental health professionals
and clinical support staff. Provides oversight of support staff
with respect to individual patient management. Participates in team
huddles to review the schedule at the start of the clinic day.
Participates in process and quality improvement workflows.
Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance. Attends
required meetings and in-services, and participates in committees
as requested. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS Education and/or Experience Graduation from a
nationally-accredited Physician Assistant training program or FNP:
Master's of Science in Nursing from an accredited graduate-level
nursing program is required. Successful completion of national
certification exam is required. Experience working with underserved
populations in a community health center preferred. License and/or
Certification Requirements Nationally recognized and active
certification is required. Unrestricted Oregon license with
prescriptive authority is required. BLS and/or ACLS certification
is required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Behaviors Ability to
communicate professionally both orally and in writing with a
service-oriented approach, sometimes in stressful circumstances.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA policies.
Knowledge of and ability to apply FQHC guidelines and accepted
current medical practice and standards. Knowledge and ability to
use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
Ability to effectively perform in a fast-paced environment.
Intermediate or higher proficiency of MS Office Suite (Outlook,
Word, Teams) Ability to proficiently use EPIC Electronic Health
Record. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of
health care to a diverse and underserved population. Ability to use
good and ethical judgement in difficult situations. Ability to
communicate professionally with peers, management, and patients
alike. Ability to act as a leader and educational resource to
clinic support staff. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred. WORKING
CONDITIONS Hours and location may vary. The noise level in the work
environment is usually moderate to loud based on patient volume. As
a result of high patient volume, this position experiences
stressors that come along with a fast-paced environment. Must be
able to travel during the workday and/or cover at other locations
as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
occasionally exposed to toxic chemicals or blood borne pathogens
and regularly handles contaminated sharp instruments. Regularly sit
while working on the computer; use hands and fingers to handle,
control or feel objects tools or controls; repeat the same
movements when entering data; ability to differentiate between
colors, shades, and brightness; read from a computer screen for
extended periods of time. Frequently stand and walk around the
office to gather supplies, required to do filing, use office
equipment, or collaborate with employees. Occasionally stand, stoop
and lift or move objects, equipment and supplies weighing
approximately 20-25 pounds up to 40-50 pounds. The noise level in
the work environment is usually moderate. Neighborhood Health
