We are currently recruiting millwrights for a family owned and operated sawmill that has been in business since 1947 and also looking for Field Millwrights as well to do travelling work! Duties and Responsibilities for Millwright The maintenance team is responsible for keeping the sawmill running efficiently and effectively with as little downtime as possible. Preventive maintenance to equipment and machine centers is required as well as planning and completing mill projects. Skills and Qualification for Millwright Well versed with hydraulic motors, cylinders and valves. High attention to detail and ability to diagnose and fix maintenance issues is a requirement Basic millwright skills are required Basic installation, maintenance and repairs of machinery and equipment Experience using specialized tools such as welders, capable of reading blueprints and fabricating Knowledge with parts and pieces and able to sort through inventory Must be able to lift, push, pull, stand, kneel and walk for a minimum of a 9 hour work shift Must work well with others in a fast paced environment and willing to help out where needed throughout a shift Must have an array of technical skills that would enable you to diagnose and fix any machine or equipment issues including electrical Maintaining shop cleaning and organizing Job Details for Millwright Temp-Hire Skilled millwrights starting wage $25 DOE Journey Level millwright starting $30 DOE Schedule: Swing Shift Monday-Friday 3:30pm-1:00am Duties and Responsibilities for Field Millwright: Installs machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in industrial establishment. Dismantles machines using torches, hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools. Moves machinery and equipment using cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks. Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, conveyors and tram rails using welders and other hand and power tools. Constructs foundation for machines using hand tools and building materials such as wood, cement and steel. Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs. Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures using hand tools and power tools. May repair and lubricate machines and equipment. Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms with bolts and clamps. Attaches load with grappling devices such as loops, wires, ropes and chain to crane hook. Sets up, braces, and rigs hoisting equipment, using hand tools and power wrenches. Splices rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle. Skills and Qualifications for Field Millwright: At least 3 years of prior experience.Preference given to experience in wood products, lumber or mill industry Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Ability to operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications. Job Details for Field Millwright: Project 7-8 Months Schedule: Up to 6 days/week and 12 hrs/day. 40+ hours on a regular weekly basis Wage: $28.00 + $90 per diem and $.585/mile for travel to jobsite.
