Job Description:
The RoleNextgov, an award-winning digital publication of
GovExec, leads the way in reporting on how emerging technologies
are transforming the way federal agencies serve citizens and
perform vital functions. Nextgov is seeking an experienced
Technology Reporter to provide coverage of emerging
technologiessuch as artificial intelligence, quantum computing,
space flight, biometrics, and 5Gin the federal space. In this role,
you will track how the administration and Congress address funding,
developing, buying, and regulating such technology. As the
Technology Reporter, you will be a writer who understands the
federal landscape, policymaking and has a keen eye for unique
government technology stories. Responsibilities
- Writing breaking news stories and enterprise features.
- Developing key sources and leveraging them to produce original
reporting.
- Moderating panel discussions and one-on-one interviews when
necessary.
- Contributing to ebooks, special reports, podcasts, and other
editorial projects.Qualifications
- 4+ years of reporting experience.
- Experience covering technology and the federal government is
preferred.
- Strong writing and analytical skills and high attention to
detail.
- Ability to digest complicated information and produce stories
