Job Description:

The Agile Enablement Services team is looking for a Scrum Master to guide software delivery teams through the successful implementation and execution of the Scrum framework and to foster an environment of continuous improvement at the team level and throughout the organization. The Scrum Master is a leader and champion of Agile culture within and across teams, focused on leveraging Scrum to enable the delivery of value in an environment of purpose, teamwork, productivity, and excellence. This role applies a servant leadership approach to help teams understand and implement Scrum principles and practices. The Scrum Master meets teams where they are in their Agile evolution and uses a network of relationships to protect team members, remove impediments, maximize efficiency of delivery, and promote continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Coach, mentor and train two to three teams on the Scrum framework and other Lean-Agile principles and practices.


  • Facilitate Scrum and other Agile events including the Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, backlog refinement and release planning sessions.


  • Foster high-performing teams by promoting self-organization and a focus on team accountability, optimization of flow, quality, timely delivery, and collaboration across team boundaries.


  • Partner with product owners and development teams to help define and manage backlogs, establish and socialize accurate forecasts and ensure software is delivered reliably and predictably.


  • Identify and remove risks and impediments to the teams via formal and informal channels and escalate effectively when necessary.


  • Protect teams by identifying and eliminating patterns of distraction and interruption.


  • Collaborate to identify and manage dependencies between teams and/or departments.


  • Establish and maintain team-level metrics and manage progress reporting.


  • Monitor team dynamics and resolve interpersonal conflicts within the team as they arise.


  • Promote continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle by leveraging data to identify opportunities and drive intentional change.


  • Establish a learning culture through knowledge sharing and by leading retrospectives and other continuous improvement events.


  • Actively contribute to Agile Enablement Services team initiatives.




    Requirements:



    • 2 to 5 years' direct experience as a Scrum Master working hands-on with software development teams. Industry-recognized Scrum certifications (PSM, CSM, SAFe SSM, etc.) preferred.


    • Experience coaching and mentoring teams on Agile values, principles and practices and the ability to apply a range of approaches and techniques depending on context. Experience starting new Scrum teams or migrating existing teams from waterfall practices to Scrum is a plus.


    • Deep understanding of the Scrum framework and the theories behind it, and the ability to pass along that knowledge to others. Familiarity with Kanban, Lean, XP and/or other Agile approaches, frameworks and methodologies is a plus.


    • Experience working with teams in a scaled Agile environment (e.g. SAFe, LeSS, S@S, Nexus, etc.) and facilitating multi-team events is a plus.


    • Experience applying standard Scrum measures and metrics to help manage delivery (e.g., team velocity, sprint and release burn-down / burn-up, cumulative flow, etc.)


    • Experience using Jira or similar work management tools, e.g. Azure DevOps, Rally, etc.


    • A positive, can-do attitude and the desire and ability to shift between or take on additional roles depending upon the needs of the team and organization.


    • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and collaboration skills applied successfully within teams and broader organizations.


    • Strong communication skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to establish trust and build relationships.


    • Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.


    • Autonomy - the ability to learn and adapt quickly and to perform job duties independently without direct supervision.


    • Strong business and/or technology acumen, preferably in payment processing or other financial technologies or disciplines.


    • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to influence, motivate and mobilize team members and business partners.


    • Ability to employ a servant leader mindset - modeling positive behaviors, employing active listening, displaying emotional intelligence, influencing without formal authority, and thinking beyond the day-to-day.


    • Experience working with remote, distributed, cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
