Job Description:

Looking Glass Community Services is looking to hire full-time and on-call Social Service Assistants (SSAs) in our Adjudicated Youth Services (AYS) residential programs. Are you empathetic but also able to maintain professional boundaries? If so, you might just be perfect for this full-time or on-call Social Service Assistant (SSA) position with our nonprofit! As a Social Service Assistant (SSA) you are in charge of maintaining sight and sound supervision of our teenage clients. You must be a positive role model and youth mentor for our clients. You will work with Case Managers, Therapists, other SSAs, and Supervisors to provide the appropriate care and skill-building for each client. You will be responsible forobserving and recording both positive and negative behavior patterns to aid Case Managers and Therapists in counseling and/or service-planning for clients. As an SSA you must uphold strict professional boundaries and enforce program rules. Youth can sometimes become escalated throughout the day. SSAs are primarily responsible for verbally de-escalating clients and situations while maintaining a safe environment for other clients.

Full-time SSAs earn $13.50/hour and are eligible for a competitive benefits package.On-Call SSAs earn $12.00/hour and have the benefit of a flexible schedule and gain work experience with diverse populations. On-Call staff can be considered for full-time positions as seen fit by supervisors.

Qualifications:

Ability to uphold professional boundaries and maintain program rules.

Cultural awareness is a must! Staff must be committed to the mission and values of Looking Glass.

Bachelor's degree in psychology, corrections or a related field is preferred.

Previous experience working in a residential setting with at-risk youth is preferred.
