Job Description:

Cardiovascular Services Technologist


Utilizes sound judgment in appropriate patient care, safety and infection control practices

Clearly communicates, interviews and screens patients per protocol

Independently sets up for and performs assigned exams and procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards

Operates, troubleshoots, maintains equipment

Completes and documents any pertinent information as appropriate

Provides appropriate documentation to the Cardiologist and consults outside physicians as applicable

Observes and monitors patients condition and reactions to exam

Monitors and manages IVs

Transfers and positions patient safely and properly for examination

Uses proper sterile technique

Cleans/disinfects and tidies exam rooms, patient holding rooms, etc.

Completes daily assignments and projects as assigned in a timely manner

Assists and optimizes customer service and workflow

Assists with departmental operations

Inventories, restocks and moves supplies as needed


Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
Philips FD20, Philips XIM Monitoring, PYXIS medication storage.

Required skills and minimum years of experience.

Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned Department

Demonstrates above average technical skills and knowledge

Must be able to take call

Complete understanding of vascular and related organ anatomy

Demonstrates the ability and effectively uses computer and software applications applicable to the position

Exhibits the excellent customer service skills and the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public. Demonstrates good team dynamics

Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision

Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location

Ability to multi-task and self-lead problem solving skills

Prior cardiovascular lab experience required

Three (3) years relevant experience in a Cardiac Cath lab preferred

Previous experience working in a hospital setting preferred

Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.

(ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
Satisfactory completion of formal specific training in the approved Imaging Technology Program, as relevant to assigned modality (Copy of academic degree/transcript required upon hire)
Requires current registration with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI)
ACLS (AHA)
BLS (AHA)
ARRT (R)
High school graduate or equivalent preferred
Bachelors degree preferred
Additional advanced certification preferred

Holds at least one of the following below- Preferred, not required:
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
Vascular Intervention Certification
Cardiac Intervention Certification

8 hour days with possible OT. They will not work alone and call will be required to include weekends. Call possible as heavy as 50%, but around 40% is safe.
