Position Summary

The Practice Lead role at Domo acts as a single source of focus for a given domain, holistically motivated toward its advancement in the market. Each lead is responsible for one or many Practice Areas (domains), spanning business, industry, or technology. The core intent of the team is to help provide additional growth and sales velocity, product and marketing knowledge in Domo's target domains, and provide elevated thought leadership to internal and external audiences. In order to drive growth,the Revenue organization needs a business leader that will align client value around a more comprehensive strategy, thereby increasing deal size and impact for the client. Furthermore, the Practice Leads are seen as critical to Domo's ability to execute and gain traction in the market, orchestrating across all major phases of the customer lifecycle. In addition to engaging directly with clients as domain experts and trusted advisors, this will require robust messaging, content, demo assets, GTM content, and feedback to productmarketing in order to connect to customers line-of-business. Theteam will act as strategic advisors, sales contributors, and thought leaders across the sales org and back into the product, marketing, and R&D teams.

As the Industry Principal for Financial Services, this Practice Lead takes an industry-focused approach to the advancement of the three main pillars of FinServ: Retail Banking, Insurance, and Asset Management/Cap Mkts. The Industry Principals will provide an industry and business-relevant lens to the technology value messaging, direction, and strategy developed by the Principal Architect Practice Leads. The Industry Principal will need to combine deep experience in Enterprise Software with strong industry-wide expertise in Financial Services.

The Practice Leads act as coaches and strategic advisors to the SC and sales organization on how to better connect with customers on their Line of Business and on market/industry trends. They will also help communicate the "art of the possible" with Domo in their domain and advise customers on how Domo can deliver new capabilities to them to support their transformational efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the go-to industry leader for Domo's solutions within Financial Services;
  • Work in collaboration with Product Marketing, Sales, Solutions Consulting, Product, and Customer Success to develop Practice-wide strategy and execution plans;
  • Push solution-oriented selling in Financial Services, using repeatable & vetted use cases as the core;
  • Lead workshops with clients to develop value-focused roadmaps over the long-term for our clients, working hand-in-hand with Solutions Consulting to build strong solution architectures that solve our customers' most valuable problems;
  • Understand the deeper subtleties present in the way clients within a given sub-vertical (e.g., retail banking or commercial insurance) perceive value and solve high ROI problems;
  • Work in concert with other Practice Areas to shape the interoperability of Domo capabilities when applied to real-world business problems to drive augmented value for our clients;
  • Engage directly with clients, acting as a feedback loop to Product, Marketing, Sales, and Consulting teams. Maintain regular cadences with these teams;
  • Build strategies to apply a Financial Services lens to existing Domo-wide structures, and then catalyze their execution;
  • Advise SC's and sales teams on strategic approach to increase sales traction and resonance for the respective domain. Act as a direct contributor to significant deals. Actively seek opportunities to communicate the wider Domo solution in context of the customers business objectives and industry trends in that domain;
  • Accelerate development and innovation of collateral, thought leadership, messaging, and demo environment to help show customers the "art of the possible" alongside our current product offering.

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years' experience working within the Financial Services industry, or 4+ post-MBA (or similar);
  • Very strong knowledge of the role of enterprise tech in Financial Services, and how it is used to drive business value and solve business problems;
  • Deep familiarity with enterprise technology vendor go-to-market, demand generation, pre-sales, and implementation;
  • Experience working in/with analytics, data science, business intelligence, or data platforms to solve business problems;
  • Responsible for the Financial Services practice areas. Experience with influence-based leadership;
  • Familiarity with working cross-functionally across core teams to solvebusiness and technical problems;
  • Strong comfort defining solution architectures, especially with highly flexible technology platforms;
  • Solid verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Knowledge of relevant applications used in Financial Services, along with a working understanding of business application architectures, web frameworks, scripting, and data science;
  • Proven time management skillsin a dynamic sales environment;
  • Entrepreneurial experience and attitude. Highly driven individual with an execution focus and a strong passion for hitting the ground running and enabling change;
  • B.S. Finance/Econ, Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, orequivalentprofessionalwork experience. MBA or similar masters degree a plus.
