Overview

The Global Commercial Specialist, Chromatography will be responsible for driving the sales of the chromatography product portfolio on a global basis, directly and through other regional sales specialists and the global sales team. The product portfolio consists of process scale pre-packed columns and chromatography resins.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth globally through direct selling and relationships with key accounts and through global regional sales teams and regional chromatography sales specialists
  • Set sales strategy for the chromatography pre-packed column and resin business and drive execution of regional territory sales strategy.
  • Develops opportunities for Single Use Chromatography systems in conjunction with Systems Sales Specialists
  • Drive the sales process to meet or exceed sales and profitability targets
  • Be the customer and market advocate to the internal organization
  • Develop and execute a global territory plan for the chromatography portfolio
  • Own and drive key strategic projects to support the sales process.
  • Conduct sales negotiations with technical and procurement departments as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key opinion leaders
  • Develop new target accounts across the territory
  • Provide accurate and timely sales reporting and forecasting as required
  • Interface with Business Leader and Product Manager to ensure that appropriate product, market and competitive information is shared in an accurate and timely manner
  • Work closely with marketing to drive awareness and lead generation
  • Support the development of sales collateral
  • Execute all aspects of field sales activity to include customer visits, technical presentations and negotiations
  • Attend, manage and follow up on trade show activities
  • Able to develop and execute a sales strategy
  • Proven ability to build mutually beneficial, personable, trusting relationships with customers and key opinion leaders
  • Knowledge of process chromatography is essential.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional team members and lead through influence
  • Excellent negotiation and contracting skills.
  • Ability to "get the job done" and take responsibility for results without direct authority.
  • Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, good analytical and problem-solving skills, Multi-tasking skills, and strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrates and champions the core values of the company
  • Global travel will be necessary but limited

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a BS degree in a scientific or engineering discipline; Advanced degree preferred
  • A minimum of a BSc degree + in a scientific discipline or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical or life science industries. A strong understanding of Process Scale Chromatography is essential
  • 3-5 Years sales experience in bioprocessing industry is essential
