Job Summary

The SVP, Finance, Investments and Investors Relations Officer will lead a wide range of critically important finance functions for the Holdings Company including sourcing and monitoring investments for a $3.0 BN investment portfolio, working closely with Senior Management as well as with the Investment Committee of the Board of Directors. The incumbent will also lead the key externally facing finance functions of investor relations, rating agency and banking relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Continuously exhibit and uphold Core Values of Integrity, Accountability, Communication and Teamwork, Innovation and Customer Service
  • Source and present investment ideas to the CFO
  • Work closely with current investment managers to monitor performance and investment reporting
  • Identify and monitor key risks to the portfolio as well as the investment guidelines
  • Present investment performance and results to the Investment Committee of the Board each quarter
  • Target and interface with potential and existing public investors, as well as the sell side research community, as the Enterprise's primary "salesperson"
  • Articulate the Enterprise's strategy, earnings potential and competitive positioning, among other attributes, to public investors, analysts and other external parties
  • Maintain and update key investor marketing materials including earnings press release and investor relations deck
  • Design and lead investor calendar including conferences, meetings, road shows, etc.
  • Act as the primary interface with rating agency personnel, leading annual rating agency meeting, relevant annual data collection and regular, frequent dialogue
  • Own the rating agency model
  • Act as key interface with banks/capital markets resources to evaluate Holdings capital management, capital needs, lending facilities
  • Lead business and budget planning for relevant areas of oversight (e.g. Net Investment Income, investor marketing expense)
  • Lead and manage staff to include establishing and communicating corporate and function goals and objectives, setting performance goals, performance management and training

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required
  • Advanced degree in related field (i.e. MBA) preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in investments (i.e. analyst, investor relations) and the P&C insurance sector required
  • Excellent technical skills (analytical, GAAP, Statutory)
  • Designations (i.e. CFA) preferred
