The Solutions team at iMerit is looking for a Data Engineer to support our fast-expanding customer base and internal teams. As a creative problem-solver and data detective, you will be responsible for understanding the challenges faced by our Solutions team and end customers in order to create, fuse, visualize, and analyze data from multiple sources. You will partner with Solutions Architects to develop robust processes to manage data pipelines and extract insights from disparate data sources, helping us translate complex technical requirements into well-documented low-code workflows.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Communicate with internal and external project stakeholders to identify requirements for annotation tool configuration, data pre- and post-processing, data visualization, and reporting of key analytics
  • Develop ad-hoc scripts to help Solutions Architects and Project Managers automate data workflows
  • Extract and aggregate data from client, vendor, and internal platforms to facilitate reporting of key analytics
  • Provide 5 "office hours" per week for ad-hoc collaboration with a remote, distributed team across US and European timezones
  • Communicate complex concepts and the results of the analyses in a clear and effective manner
  • Document all projects developed, including clear and efficient coding and notebooks/readmes for technical and less technical stakeholders
  • Identify and share best practices for key topics


  • Experience in software development, scripting, and data visualization using Python, R, and/or C++
  • Familiarity with data workflows and methods in machine learning for computer vision, geographic information systems, and/or natural language processing
  • Proficiency working with databases, web sources, and ETL, such as Postgres, RDS, MongoDB, BigQuery, Redshift, SQLite, REST APIs
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud-based technologies (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure)
  • Experience running command line operations in one or more operating systems: Windows and/or Linux (command line)
  • 2-3 years of professional or academic experience in a quantitative or engineering discipline, such as machine learning, statistics, computer science, geographic information science, or computational linguistics
