Pay Scale: $15.00 - $18.45

 

Shift: 3pm - 11pm

 

Job Summary:

 

The COVID-19 Screening Shift Lead assists with the training and education of screeners for assigned shift periods, maintains the screening station schedules, addresses scheduling vacancies, and functions as a Screener as required or as scheduled for breaks and staff absences.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Train new screeners on screening processes, proper donning and doffing of PPE, opening/closing procedures, VSB system, and Vocera use. Document competency.
  • Create, view and maintain screening station schedules. Print and distribute as needed.
  • Address vacancies in the schedule, including call-outs and time off requests.
  • Ensure breaks and lunches are taken by all screeners, provide coverage when necessary.
  • Educate screeners on policy changes in a timely manner.
  • Provide support to screeners with difficult patient or visitor interactions.
  • Maintain Vocera devices and batteries.
  • Functions as a Screener as needed or as scheduled.
  • Establish regular communication with the nursing floors regarding visitor restrictions and other important information; add to the VSB and discuss with screeners as appropriate.
  • Monitor inventory of screening station supplies. Request or order additional inventory as needed.

Assists Supervisor to assure competency completion of staff, coaching and mentoring of staff for process improvement, and performance management.


Qualifications

License/Certification:

  • None

Experience:

  • One (1) year of supervisory experience or a satisfactory combination of experience, education and knowledge as a screener.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills in relating to public and peers.
  • Organizational skills.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED
