We currently have an awesome opportunity for a talented,
forward-thinking individual who shares our vision of helping Girl
Scouts change the world for the better. Girl Scouts of Oregon and
Southwest Washington is seeking a friendly and outgoing Membership
and Volunteer Support Specialist, preferably with Spanish language
skills, to support our Eugene/Willamette Valley service area.
What you'll do
This is a dynamic role, responsible for the full lifecycle of
bringing new members and volunteers into Girl Scouts and providing
volunteers with ongoing support.
As a Membership and Volunteer Support Specialist, you'll lead the
development and execution of youth and adult membership recruitment
and retention plans to achieve annual membership goals and
outcomes, using methods that reflect the community's strengths.
You'll be assigned to support volunteers and membership in a
specific geographic area, including the Girl Scouts service unit
You'll also manage and support service team volunteers, including
recruiting, selecting, appointing, training, and evaluating those
volunteers. You'll ensure volunteers learn and comply with Girl
Scouts policies and procedures to promote member safety and the
Foundational Girl Scout Experience.
Be an ambassador of the mission and values of Girl Scouts and the
benefits of our programs in the community.
Execute campaigns to invite new members and volunteers into Girl
Attend events and community engagements to invite new volunteers,
youths, and their families into Girl Scouting.
Build connections and partnerships with organizations in the
Guide new members and volunteers through the process of joining
Girl Scouts, and help them find the right place within the
Support volunteer and membership retention by providing excellent
customer service and relationship management.
Volunteer management, training, and ongoing support. This includes
volunteer placement, supervision, and conflict mediation (as
Interpret and enforce policies and procedures with volunteers.
Public speaking to both large and small groups.
Training adult volunteers.
Frequent local travel, up to 50% of the time, during the peak

Outstanding collaboration and relationship-building skills.
Sales and/or recruitment skills.
Strong team and project leadership skills.
Impeccable communication skills, including verbal and written, and
Analytical skills, with the ability to create, interpret, and
present data and use data in effective decision-making.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft office suite and ease in
learning new applications.
Ability to travel to meetings, events, and community partner
locations. Reliable transportation.
Familiarity with the demographic and cultural needs of the service
Preferred: Spanish language skills at an independent
user/conversational level or better.
Live within the service area and be familiar with the local
Compensation -Non-exempt, starting at $21 per hour, depending on
experience. Plus, $1.25 per hour for Spanish language skills at a
conversational level or better.

Hours - Full-time. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule,
including some evenings and weekends, and travel up to 50% of the
time during peak seasons.
Location -This position will spend a lot of time working in the
field, which requires regular and frequent travel to meetings and
events within the assigned service area. For office work, staff can
choose to work remotely, in-office at our Eugene Service Center, or
a hybrid. All necessary equipment will be provided by Girl
