within UHR, manages the university's benefits, medical leaves,
work-life, learning and development, HR operations, and recognition
programs for all employees. The unit is responsible for generating
and distributing HR communications to all university employees and
develops and maintains HR programs in collaboration with campus
stakeholders to support university leadership and institutional
priorities.HR Operations serves as a strategic partner with campus
stakeholders, providing guidance and leadership around employment
best practices, and ensuring the integrity of human resources
information. In support of the University's mission and strategic
priorities, the HR Operations team is committed to:--- Reliable,
consistent, professional service--- Facilitating and implementing
personnel and pay actions--- Disseminating and implementing
employment legislation, UO policies and procedures, and CBA
provisions--- Personnel and HR records stewardship and reporting---
Ongoing process improvement Position Summary The HR Operations
Coordinator will collaborate with campus units, Payroll, and other
partners to resolve complex personnel and pay action errors and
escalated issues. The position is responsible for creating and
maintaining personnel transaction documentation and records, and
for developing and delivering training on UO HR procedures and
policies in relation to personnel and pay actions and corresponding
records, in compliance with collective bargaining agreements,
university policies, and federal and state laws.The position acts
as a backup for processing employment actions such as offers,
separations, appointment changes, unpaid appointments, and other
personnel actions. The Operations Coordinator will lead or assist
with projects and initiatives such as implementing salary
increases, processing faculty promotions and sabbatical leaves,
conducting data audits, automating workflows, and analyzing and
implementing process improvements. The HR Operations Coordinator
will share responsibility for updating and creating procedures and
documentation related to HR Operations processes and program
implementation.Hybrid Eligible: This position is based in Eugene
with some level of flexibility including the option to work
remotely with frequent commuting to campus. All adjusted work
arrangements require supervisor and leadership approval. Minimum
Requirements To qualify for the position of Coordinator:---
Bachelor's degree OR an equivalent combination of skills,
experience, or education.--- Two years of experience in human
resources, payroll, or similar functions.To qualify for the
position of Senior Coordinator:--- Bachelor's degree OR an
equivalent combination of skills, experience, or education.--- Four
years of experience in human resources, payroll, or similar
functions. Professional Competencies --- Excellent desktop
computer-related skills, including word processing, spreadsheet,
and database software.--- Proven analytical and problem-solving
skills, including innovative thinking.--- Excellent organizational
skills and attention to detail.--- Ability to act with integrity,
professionalism, and confidentiality.--- Excellent time management
skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.--- Excellent
customer service and oral and written communication skills; ability
to effectively communicate complex information to individuals from
diverse backgrounds and cultures. Preferred Qualifications ---
Experience advising, documenting, and training on procedures and
policies/guidance.--- Experience processing employee transactions,
or experience generating or reviewing complex documents in any or
all of the following areas: record management, processing employee
transactions (separations, promotions, etc.), human resources
records compliance, labor agreements, and personnel/payroll systems
maintenance.--- Experience with process improvement/streamlining
workflows, and/or process mapping.--- Experience working in human
resources or payroll administration.--- Experience working in
higher education.--- Experience advising or implementing new
programs or policies, or updating or creating procedures based on
new policies or changes.--- Experience with Ellucian Banner HR
information system or similar large enterprise-wide human resources
information system or experience with recruitment tracking
software.--- Experience with employee data management, and/or
working with large sets of data in excel.--- Experience working
with collective bargaining agreements, and/or other regulated
environments with complex layers of policies and
laws/regulations.--- One year of human resource management
