Job ID : 67512BR Location : US - Oregon - Bend : Job Description Summary: Provides analytical support for pre-clinical and clinical development material. May contribute to early formulation selection and to development and validation of new scientific methods. Analytical work may be used to characterize raw materials, production intermediates, and final products. Works on technical/scientific project activities on projects of moderate scope at the task level to execute strategies and technical solutions that meet client needs and expectations. Typically works in an analytical development role. Essential Functions: - Experience with various analytical techniques, such as HPLC, Dissolution, PXRD, DSC, GC, KF. - Records and reports results of analysis in accordance with prescribed lab procedures and systems. - Clearly and accurately communicates the results of work by creating documentation of the testing/analysis and obtained results. - Reviews analytical test results and works with internal team to analyze results. - Manages projects at the task level under supervision. May contribute to experimental design. - Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized laboratory work-space consistent with management expectations. - Contributes to development of methods and processes that meet or exceed the expectations from clients and provide innovation as necessary. - Researches current methodologies and assist with implementation of new methodologies and processes with supervisor support and approval. - Collaborates with internal scientific, analytical, and laboratory functional areas to meet project and team objectives. - Performs all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and Safety guidelines. Maintains the necessary compliance status required by company and facility standards. Education: Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related physical science. Experience: Typically requires 2 years of scientific experience, preferably in life sciences. If advanced degree, typically requires no previous related experience. Equivalency: Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered. Competencies: Good knowledge of scientific methodology as related to the pharmaceutical industry, chemistry, and analytical instrumental technologies. Good knowledge of qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis. Proficient with HPLC, GC, and Dissolution techniques. Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices. Excellent critical and logical thinking skills. Effective written, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to learn new methodologies and to develop technical solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Physical Requirements: Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to stand and walk; ability to lift and/or carry light objects of up to 25 lbs. for brief periods.
