Job Description Drive in a fast pace production environment.
Work with well maintained production hysters with back-up toyotas.
(full-time forklift mechanic) Must be capable of mounting and
dismounting a forklifrtr continuously during the course of an
8-hour shift. Must be capable of stooping and grasping continuously
over an 8-hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on
occasion. Must be able to maintain a safe speed dictated by the
production of the dryers. Utility driver: Worker will assume the
position of back-up forklift operator in two key forklift positions
on the shift. If a full-time driver must be out, the utility driver
will cover that position. If production requires a 7 day dryer
schedule they will cover other drivers while they take alternate
days off. They will be trained to fill in where needed throughout
the mill in other positions including but not limited to clean-up.
When filling in on non driving positions, the rate of pay will be
15.00 per hour. Any time spent as a driver will be 17.00. This
position will put you in line for the next full time forklift
position that comes open. Dry-end driver: Dry units of veneer will
automatically discharge from the stacker with the precise sheet
count, onto a set of chains, which will advance the units to the
bander. The driver will then set top and bottom stickers, push
button to band, push button to advance, and unit will advance
automatically to the middle position, set two more stickers and
band, push the button to advance the load to the end position
automatically, set the stickers and band. Then advance the unit to
the end of the out-feed chains, push a button and the tilt rolls
will raise and tilt, putting the unit in position to then be picked
up by the forklift. The unit will then be taken to the warehouse
and be stacked in the correct rows. Green-end driver: Green units,
which have been staged to run through the dryers, must be set on
the reserve chains to the dryer feeding stations for both dryers.
The banding on the individual units must be cut and disposed of
properly and then the stickers must be stacked in the appropriate
rack for re-use. The inside forklift work will be done with an 8000
or 9000 lb. forklift. These green units are stored in outside
storage buildings and must be moved to the green-end. The outside
forklift will be a 15000lb. hyster. Follow all safety rules and
regulations set by OSHA and Eagle Veneer. Must be able to work with
safety personnel and the quality control manager. Will be
responsible for the quality related to handling of all products. Do
a pre-operation safety and maintenance check before every shift.
Must have recognizable experience or potential as a forklift
operator. Must attend classroom training and then have a chance to
show skills in forklift operation experience. Wage will be
dependent on demonstrated skills as a forklift operator. $17.00 per
hour for full time forklift operators. 15.00 to 17.00 per hour for

grade to several plywood plants, including our own plywood plant
which is capable of making any size plywood up to 5x12 ft.
